Memory match: find the pairs
The classic pairs game with Gooby's critters. Turn two cards: if they match they stay up, if not they turn back — remember where they were! Little ones start with four cards and a quick peek.
How to play
- Tap a card to turn it over, then tap another.
- Two of the same? They stay up. Two different? They turn back after a moment.
- Find every pair to finish the board. Stuck? Help shows one pair for a moment.
How the boards grow
- Up to age 7 (or no age set): 4 cards, then 6, 8, 12 and 16 — critters only. On the first three levels every card shows for a moment before it turns over.
- Ages 8–12: 12 cards, then 16, 20 and 24, with critters and coloured shapes. From level 5 some boards are look-alikes: the same shapes in different colours.
Memory games practise working memory — holding something in mind while doing something else — which children use every day for following instructions, reading and mental maths.
Questions
How many cards are there?
Little ones (4–7) start with four cards and grow to sixteen; big kids (8–12) start with twelve and grow to twenty-four.
Is there a time limit or a move counter?
No. Take as many turns as you like; every finished board earns a star.
What are look-alike pairs?
From level 5, big kids sometimes get boards where the cards share a shape and differ only by colour, so remembering exactly what was where matters more.
